Ownership

Our founder and co-owner, James Brown, a military vet, master electrician, and Centennial High grad, built Steel City Solar as a way to support the southern Colorado community while giving the highest quality solar products and services. Together with co-owner Tyler Surat, the CFO and sales manager, they work to create community partnerships, hire local high school graduates, and help families and businesses take control of their energy production.

Administration and Project Management

Our team’s goal is to give you a complete turnkey experience—an expertly designed, approved, and installed solar PV system with no extra work or hassle for you. We work hard to take care of all necessary paperwork for local government approvals and permits, scheduling your installation, ordering your supplies, and overseeing the installation itself. Most importantly, we strive to stay in constant communication with you so you know exactly where your project is on its timeline to completion.

Our solar installation team, led by a master electrician, is experienced, well trained, and gets it done right the FIRST time.
